Stoneycroft lies in the east of Liverpool, within the West Derby parliamentary constituency. The area is bounded by several well-known local roads including West Derby Road, Mill Lane, Queens Drive and Derby Lane, with the Canada Dock Branch line forming part of its boundary to the south.
Ward Boundaries and Neighbouring Areas
The ward boundary also runs behind Stoneville Road, Portlet Road, Mentstone Road and Brelade Road. Stoneycroft borders the former territory of Old Swan to the south, and the area it covers was previously part of the Tuebrook and Stoneycroft ward, a larger electoral division that has since been reorganised.
Electoral History
The Stoneycroft ward was created on 4 May 2023, following a review carried out in 2022 by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England. That review replaced Liverpool’s previous 30 wards – each represented by three councillors – with 64 wards represented by a total of 85 councillors, with individual wards having one, two or three representatives depending on their size. Stoneycroft was drawn as a single-member ward, taking in the south-eastern portion of the former Tuebrook and Stoneycroft ward along with a small section of the former Old Swan ward. It is one of the single-councillor wards now making up Liverpool City Council’s revised electoral map.
